You don't have to struggle alone

There are lots of challenges that you might face at university. From moving away from home, to meeting new people and course-related stress – it is common for university students to struggle with their mental health and wellbeing. If this is true for you, you don’t have to manage alone. The Student Counselling & Wellbeing Service are here to support you.

Wellbeing Groups & Workshops

Student Counselling and Wellbeing’s ‘Wellbeing Workshops’ are free one-off 50-minute workshops designed to help you learn more about specific mental health struggles, as well as teaching you coping strategies to manage and improve your overall wellbeing.

The workshops are run by professional counsellors and wellbeing practitioners who are experts in their field and passionate about supporting students and their wellbeing. The workshops are run both in-person and online, so you can attend in the way that best suits you! 

What workshops are available?  

This year (2025-2026) Student Counselling and Wellbeing are running workshops on:

  • Wellbeing and Self-care
  • Managing Worry and Anxiety
  • Tackling Procrastination
  • Perfect or Good Enough (managing perfectionism)
  • What to Do when you’re feeling Low
  • Managing Negative Thoughts
  • Managing Exam Stress

What groups are available?  

Meditation Group  

Student Counselling and Wellbeing continue to offer their Meditation Group, which offers a large variety of relaxations, meditations and practices. This group runs year-round and you’re welcome to join at any point!  

Feel Better Faster Group  

The Feel Better Faster group, designed to help you manage your thoughts and feelings with more ease, will also be running again this year. This group includes various yoga, meditation and mindfulness techniques, aimed at helping you deepen your capacity to relax, concentrate and manage your internal experiences.

You can join both groups either online via MS Teams, or in person, and they are entirely free to attend.
