Welcome to Sentinel Towers and the university of Leeds

Hi, I'm Imran and I'm your warden for Sentinel Towers.

I have been at the university for over 4 years, and this is my 3rd year as a warden! I studied economics and finance at university many years ago, and while I enjoy working with numbers and spreadsheets, I take huge pleasure in meeting people from all different backgrounds and supporting them.

In my free time I love to take long walks all around the country. I am apart of a walking club and try to go for walk every Sunday, and I have climbed both Mount Snowdon and Ben Nevis. I also enjoy sports but I especially adore cricket. In my spare time I also do a lot of charity work and fundraising for causes close to my heart.

My role as warden is to support, guide, and ensure you have a fantastic time living at halls, while also keeping you safe and looked after. Throughout your time at the Uni I will be here to help you with any issues that may arise, while also signposting to other organisations and teams at the Uni.

Helping me with this supportive role are the Residence Life Assistants – the RLAs. In Sentinel Towers there are 4 RLAs who are typically 3rd and 4th year students who live in the hall themselves. They are always around if you need help, advice, or just a chat. They are easy to contact, and one will always be on call between 6pm – 8am on weekdays, and 24 hours on the weekends. Their number is 07880916176, I recommend that you save this number in your phone just in case you need to contact them

Our office reception team are also here to help throughout the day, and our site manager Chris Storey will be around from 8am – 6pm throughout Monday – Friday. The number for reception is 0113 245723.

Overall Sentinel Towers is a unique hall with a friendly and social community. It has a great common room and outside area that always has people around. We are a 15-minute walk from the City Centre and the train station, which can really come in handy!

Throughout the year we have a residence life social committee - RLSC. They help to hold lots of events for Sentinel Towers and help to create a true community within the hall. Anyone can apply to be apart of the social committee and it is a great opportunity for individuals to meet other residents who they may not live with. During freshers week, myself and the RLAs will be available, where we will be holding various events where you can elect themselves to join their own club or society

I can't wait to see you all in September!
